  • Appelation: Pauillac (this is the second wine of Grand Cru Château Grand-Puy-Lacoste!)
    Grape varieties: 52% Cabernet Sauvignon - 40% Merlot - 8% Cabernet Franc
Tasting note: score 88-90 - Tasted twice with consistent notes, Lacoste Borie, a blend of 52% Cabernet Sauvignon, 40% Merlot and 8% Cabernet Franc, has a lifted, seaweed scented bouquet with fine definition, although it is not a complex bouquet. The palate is nicely balanced with fine, grainy tannins. This is an understated Pauillac, one that is finely tuned with an appealing, silky finish that lingers long in the mouth, although it just fades on the finish.
Food pairing: Beed stew, meat on the bbq and any soft cheeses will go well with this deep red wine!

  • One of the oldest estates in the Médoc.BR>The history of Grand-Puy-Lacoste is fascinating in many ways. It is a family saga going back to the 16th century.

The name Grand-Puy, already mentioned in documents from the Middle Ages, comes from the ancient term "puy” which means "hillock, small height”. True to its name, the vineyard sits on outcrops with a terroir similar to that of the Médoc's first growths. From Since the 16th century the property remained attached to a single family from generation to generation, in a direct line through marriage until 1920, before connecting with another family in 1978—the Borie.
